Dental Assistant
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist dentists during a variety of treatment procedures, ensuring patient comfort throughout.
- Set up and sterilize dental instruments and equipment before each use.
- Provide clear aftercare instructions to patients following dental procedures.
- Manage and update patient records while maintaining strict confidentiality.
- Ensure all dental work areas and tools meet health and safety sterilization standards.
- Adhere strictly to infection control protocols and use of PPE.
- Support front office tasks such as scheduling appointments and handling patient inquiries.
- Educate patients on effective oral hygiene and promote dental health awareness.
- Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and stay updated on the latest dental practices and Penda Health protocols.
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives through clinical audits and implementation of best practices.
- Uphold ethical and legal standards of the medical profession, ensuring patient confidentiality and privacy.
- Comply with all healthcare regulations, policies, and guidelines to deliver safe, high-quality care.
QUALIFICATION
- Certificate in Dental Assistant course or equivalent qualification
- Strong communication and patient care skills
- Familiarity with dental equipment and sterilization techniques
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Commitment to continuous professional development and learning
