Job Title: Sales Representative – FMCG (Supermarket Channel)
Location: Nairobi, Kenya
Experience Required:
Minimum 3 years in FMCG sales, with a strong focus on supermarket listing (Tier 1 & 2 chains)
Industry: FMCG / Consumer Goods / Food & Beverage
Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced and results-oriented Sales Representative to manage and grow our retail presence across Tier 1 and Tier 2 supermarkets in Nairobi and surrounding regions. The successful candidate will have a proven record of securing listings, managing in-store execution, and maintaining strong relationships with retail decision-makers in the FMCG sector.
Key Responsibilities:
·      Secure new product listings in Tier 1 & Tier 2 supermarkets
·      Manage and grow relationships with key retail stakeholders — including buyers, category managers, and store managers.
·      Negotiate terms on pricing, shelf space, promotions, and merchandising agreements.
·      Ensure in-store execution of brand and trade marketing strategies, including planogram compliance and promotional activities.
·      Conduct regular market visits to monitor stock levels, product visibility, pricing, and competitor activity.
·      Track and analyze sales performance, providing regular reporting and market insights.
·      Work closely with the supply chain and logistics teams to ensure timely stock replenishment and minimize stockouts.
·      Identify new opportunities for volume growth and market penetration across assigned supermarket channels.
Requirements:
·      Minimum 3 years’ experience in FMCG sales or key account management, with direct experience in supermarket listings.
·      Demonstrated success in achieving sales targets and increasing product visibility in Tier 1 and 2 retail chains.
·      Strong understanding of retail operations and buyer dynamics within the Kenyan supermarket ecosystem.
·      Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
·      Self-driven, highly organized, and comfortable working with minimal supervision.
·      Proficient in Microsoft Excel and sales dashboards
·      Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within assigned territories.
Preferred Qualifications:
Diploma or Degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or a related field.
Experience working with FMCG goods is an added advantage.
