We’re looking for someone to join our team as a Social Media & Community Assistant
Do you love social media, storytelling, and connecting with people? Are you the kind of person who can spot a trend before it blows up and then turn it into something fun and shareable? If yes, we’d love to have you on our team!
At Join Africa, we’re building something exciting: a platform that connects travelers with incredible local guides, tour operators, and lodges across East Africa. Our mission is to empower guides, strengthen tourism, and create unforgettable cultural exchanges.
We’re looking for an energetic, creative Social Media & Community Assistant to help us tell these stories and keep our growing community buzzing.
What You’ll Do
• Create and share fun, unique and engaging social media content, including short videos and stories featuring our guides and community.
• Support the marketing team with campaigns, newsletters, and promotional materials.
• Act as a point of contact for guides, ensuring they feel supported, motivated, and part of the Join Africa family.
• Build strong relationships with guides, gathering feedback and helping them showcase their work.
• Organise and support community events, training sessions, and activations.
• Keep our online platforms vibrant and engaging by responding to messages and sparking conversations.
• Managing our online adverts such as Meta & google.
• In addition to creative work, you should be comfortable handling administrative tasks such as drafting emails and making calls.
What we’re looking for:
• A diploma or degree in Marketing, Communications, Media, or solid experience doing the work.
• Someone comfortable both behind and in front of the camera.
• Strong communication skills in English and Kiswahili.
• A creative eye for design, video, and viral trends.
• Organized, proactive, and excited to thrive in a startup environment.
• A passion for tourism, culture, and community building is a big plus.
• Willingness to travel
