Our client is a leading manufacturer of packaging materials serving the FMCG, horticulture export, pharmaceuticals, and paint sectors. With a strong commitment to quality, safety, and innovation, the company is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Manager to join its dynamic team.
Position: Maintenance Manager Job Purpose
The Maintenance Manager will oversee and lead the maintenance function within the organization. The role ensures smooth operation of manufacturing assets and facilities, manages preventive and predictive maintenance programs, and drives operational efficiency while ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. In addition, the role will support management in making data- driven decisions around machine procurement and identifying machines to be phased out based on performance and lifecycle considerations. The role holder will also take charge of value-add initiatives and serve as the ISO lead for the Maintenance Department, coordinating all compliance and certification matters.
Key Responsibility Areas;
• Develop, implement, and oversee preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
• Schedule, assign, and prioritize maintenance work orders to ensure minimal downtime.
• Supervise and mentor maintenance personnel, including performance evaluations and training.
• Monitor and manage departmental budgets, expenses, purchase orders, and parts inventory.
• Conduct inspections and enforce adherence to safety, food safety, and quality standards.
• Coordinate complex maintenance projects with internal teams and external service providers.
• Support continuous improvement of equipment performance and production capacity.
• Advise management on machinery procurement and recommend phasing out of underperforming or obsolete machines.
• Oversee and ensure proper operation, maintenance, and safety compliance of boilers and related equipment.
• Lead ISO-related activities for the Maintenance Department, ensuring compliance, audits, documentation, and continuous improvement.
• Drive value-add initiatives that enhance reliability, reduce costs, and support organizational competitiveness.
• Ensure compliance with safety audits, regulatory standards, and internal policies.

• Strong technical expertise in maintenance management, including exposure to boiler operations and maintenance.
• Proven leadership skills with ability to direct, mentor, and inspire teams.
• Sound knowledge of ISO standards (Quality, Safety, and related certifications).
• Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and decision-making skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with high integrity.
• Capacity to provide strategic input on equipment lifecycle and procurement decisions.
• Strong drive for value creation and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree or Higher Diploma in Mechatronics or a related Engineering field from a recognized institution.
• Minimum 4 years of progressive leadership experience in maintenance, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
• Practical exposure to boiler systems and compliance with relevant safety standards.
• Experience with ISO standards implementation and coordination.
• Strong analytical thinking with the ability to improve processes and enhance equipment reliability.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
• 100% adherence to scheduled maintenance.
• Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) > 85%.
• Mean Time to Repair (MTTR) < 1 hour.
• Mean Time Before Electrical Failure (MTBF) > 200 hours.
• Safety Audit achievement > 85% with zero engineering-related citations.
• Positive audit outcomes for ISO compliance in the Maintenance Department.
• Demonstrated cost savings and efficiency gains through value-add initiatives.
