Our client, a local manufacturer of distribution transformers, electricity meters, and supplier of solar materials based in Nairobi, is seeking to recruit a Sales Team Leader
JOB SUMMARY
The ideal candidate will be responsible for supervising the sales team, driving revenue growth, and ensuring effective execution of sales strategies in line with the company’s business objectives
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and motivate the sales team to achieve individual and group sales targets;
• Sales Strategy Development: Work closely with management to design and implement sales strategies, promotional activities, and pricing models;
• Performance Management: Monitor sales performance, set targets, conduct regular evaluations, and provide coaching to improve results;
• Market Research & Intelligence: Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitor activities to inform strategic decisions;
• Lead Generation & Conversion: Support the team in identifying new business opportunities, guiding them in lead qualification, negotiations, and deal closure;
• Client Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key clients, ensuring satisfaction and repeat business;
• Training & Development: Organize regular training sessions to enhance product knowledge, sales techniques, and customer service skills;
• Reporting: Prepare and present detailed sales reports, forecasts, and market analysis to senior management;
• Collaboration: Liaise with marketing, product development, and operations teams to ensure customer feedback and market intelligence are integrated into company strategy.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, renewable energy or its equivalent;
• Prior experience in Sales and marketing in the energy sector.
• Minimum of 4 years’ Sales experience in electrical field and at least 1 year in supervisory or team leadership role.
