The Embassy of France in Kenya and Somalia is recruiting a social media and press officer

Job: Social media and press officer

Starting date: October 1st, 2025

Under the authority of the Political Counsellor and Head of Communication and Press office

Duties:
- Communication and promotion of the activities of the French Embassy
- Implementation of communications strategies and activities
- Daily press, media and social media monitoring
- Political and civil society developments monitoring
- Preparation and development of communications products and contents
- Management of the Embassy’s website and social pages as community manager
- Preparation of written press statements
- Being the point of contact for journalists and influencers
- Organisation of the ambassador’s visits and social events in terms of communication

Job expectations:
- Proficiency in digital communication
- Proficiency in office software
- Proficiency in writing articles, posts and press statements
- Experience of dealing with journalists and social media influencers
- Strong cyber culture and in-depth knowledge of social media tools
- Knowledge of the full range of communication approaches, tools and methodologies
- Perfect command of English and Kiswahili, good command in French is desirable

Conditions:
- Gross monthly wage: KES 421 845
- One year contract, with the prospect of permanent employment

Place of work: Embassy of France in Nairobi – Peponi Gardens, Off Peponi Road, Nairobi
