Our client, a Concrete company has retained our service to support in the recruitment of a
Batch Operator
The Batch Operator is responsible for operating and controlling batching equipment to produce high-quality concrete or other specified products in compliance with production schedules, quality standards, and safety regulations. The role ensures accurate measurement of raw materials, efficient plant operations, and adherence to company policies.

Key Responsibilities
1. Batching Operations
- Operate batching equipment to mix raw materials according to set recipes and specifications.
- Ensure correct quantities of aggregates, cement, admixtures, and water are used for each batch.
- Monitor batching process and make adjustments to maintain product quality.
2. Quality Control
- Conduct pre-production checks and inspect raw materials for compliance with specifications.
- Coordinate with quality control personnel to perform slump tests and other concrete quality tests.
- Record batch details and maintain accurate production logs.
3. Equipment Operation & Maintenance
- Ensure batching plant, conveyors, and other equipment are in good working order.
- Perform routine cleaning and minor maintenance of batching equipment.
- Report equipment faults or breakdowns promptly to maintenance personnel.
4. Safety & Compliance
- Follow all health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Comply with company operational policies and statutory requirements.
5. Coordination & Communication
- Work closely with the production team, truck drivers, and dispatch to ensure timely delivery of orders.
- Communicate production issues or delays to the supervisor.
- Assist in training new batch operators or helpers when required.

Qualifications & Skills
1. Education:
- KCSE Certificate or equivalent (Diploma in Mechanical, Plant Operations, or related field is an added advantage).
2. Experience:
- Minimum 1 year experience in batching operations or related production environment (preferably in a concrete or construction materials company).
3. Skills & Competencies:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Knowledge of batching plant operations and maintenance.
- Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.

Working Conditions
- Work is primarily conducted in an industrial plant environment.
- Exposure to dust, noise, and heavy machinery.
- Requires standing, walking, and operating equipment for extended periods.

Monthly Salary ksh 23,000
